A clinician can write directions or an explanation for some clinical topic, and AI can reword it in terms that the patient can understand.
As a care manager is talking to a patient, an AI listener might pop up a suggestion. AI’s role is simply to summarize what it has heard an apply common strategies, but it’s not taking a leading role. It’s up to the care manager to decide whether to use the suggestion.
On a larger scale, their Blueprint generative AI can help design apps.
Pega has been offering analysis and workflow solutions for 40 years, and have put more focus on healthcare lately. Now they offer payers a wide range of solutions to automate elements of acquisitions, onboarding, engaging with members, and more. Pega is in use by the top ten payers in the U.S. The company has clients among providers and life sciences too.
Although they focused originally on marketing, they have found the same skills valuable for other areas of the business, notably patient engagement. Connely points out that the core of value-based care is like marketing, except that you’re trying to sell patients on behavior change.
