Harmony Healthcare IT Brings Archiving Solution to Canada

Harmony Healthcare IT Brings Archiving Solution to Canada

The annual eHealth conference is Canada’s version of HIMSS/HLTH/ViVE. It is the largest digital health conference in the country and attracts a who’s who from the Canadian healthcare ecosystem. The 2024 edition of the conference was held in rainy-yet-lovely Vancouver, British Columbia.

With the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Ocean as the backdrop, attendees spent two days discussing the latest trends and challenges.

At this year’s event there was a noticeable difference in the exhibit hall. There were more US-based health IT companies present. It was a welcome change.

Don’t get me wrong, I remain a huge proponent of healthcare innovation in Canada. This country needs more healthcare success stories. Having said that, nothing spurs innovation like competition. When there are more companies competing for business, it makes all the companies stronger.

What we need in Canada are larger, stronger, healthcare companies that compete on a global scale rather than smaller companies that only service Canadian customers.

That’s why when I saw Harmony Healthcare IT at eHealth 2024, I just had to stop in and get their impressions of the Canadian market.

Amy Holmes, Marketing Director at Harmony Healthcare IT was kind enough to hop on camera to share her thoughts with us. It was interesting to hear Holmes talk about how attendees were pleasantly surprised to learn about online archive options for legacy EHR data vs paying to keep those legacy systems running.

[Note: what isn’t on camera is our 15 minute discussion on how beautiful Vancouver is and how much we both love sushi]
