Women Healthcare Leaders Conference Insights with Dawn Whitney
As regular readers know, I get the chance to attend a lot of healthcare conferences. This is particularly true during the busy Fall conference season. One of the most unique conferences I’ve attended this Fall was the SOAR conference hosted by Bluebird Leaders in Atlanta. For those not familiar with the conference, it’s a healthcare women’s leaders conference. Now you understand why they invited me to attend (that’s a joke for those that missed the joke font). Jokes aside, it was quite the experience to attend a women’s healthcare leaders event as a man and I was excited to share some of the key messages from the event.
Plus, at the event, I had the pleasure to sit down with Dawn Whitney, CEO at ElevateX Leadership Collective. She was a keynote at the conference and shared a number of compelling leadership insights and personal stories that were inspiring. I wanted to get her perspective on the conference and women leaders from her years working with them and now through her coaching business.
In the video below, you’ll learn about what Whitney thought of the SOAR conference and a key takeaway from the event. Plus, we ask her about some of the unique challenges that women face in healthcare leadership. Then, we dive into what can be done to overcome these challenges. One of the key messages we talk about is overcoming the fear mindset and the reality of failure. Plus, she also gives some suggestions for male allies that want to support women in healthcare.
Finally, Whitney is co-hosting and co-sponsoring an upcoming event with Bluebird Leaders in Aruba February 25-27, 2025. We ask her about what women can expect that attend the smaller, more intimate event in Aruba. Sounds like an amazing time of connection and slowing down to think more strategically and thoughtfully about your career while being inspired by your female peers.
Check out the video below to learn more from Dawn Whitney, the SOAR conference, and their upcoming women healthcare leaders event in Aruba. Plus, be sure to put SOAR 2025 in Denver on your calendar.
